Using the centre

Regular hirers will have been given a key and two 4-digit codes: one for the gate and one for the alarm system.

Getting in

A padlock secures the street entrance. Enter the gate code to undo the lock.

It is important not to leave the lock unattached, hanging on the gate, as someone could walk off with it. This has happened before! Please lock the padlock to the open gate while you are inside.

Deactivating the alarm

As you unlock and open the red door to the centre the alarm will sound. Open the keypad on the wall and enter the 4-digit alarm code. The sound will stop as the alarm deactivates.

Using the room

Tables and chairs are kept in the storeroom. Please return them when you have finished.

Please clean up after yourself. You will find cleaning products available in the kitchen cupboards. If the floor becomes dirty or marked during your session, please clean it before you leave. If you use the dishwasher, please stay until the cycle has ended and return the crockery to the appropriate storage area.

A First Aid Kit is situated in the kitchen.

Leaving

It is important to secure the building as you leave. You need to set the alarm and lock the gate.

Ensure the main hall lights and heating are turned off.

Setting the alarm

  1. Open the alarm panel if not already open
  2. Type in the 4-digit code
  3. At the “Do you want to set the system?” prompt, press the YES button on the keypad
  4. A two-tone warning will sound: ensure lobby lights are off, go outside and shut the main (red) door
  5. Warning sound will change to a steady tone
  6. Steady tone will change to a higher pitch, followed by a shrill beep
  7. Make sure both door locks are locked. You may need to align the door carefully to secure them both.

Leave via the footpath. Replace the padlock so that the gate is locked securely.
